Roller Derby

Roller derby is a fast-paced, full-contact team sport played on quad rollerskates. With its modern-day roots in the feminist Riot grrrl movement, the sport prides itself on its LGTBQIA and gender inclusivity.

Eastbourne Roller Derby was founded in 2011 and hosts both the women's Bourne Bombshells team and a mixed gender team. Until this year it was also the home of the New Bournes junior roller derby team, with five junior skaters selected to represent Team GB in this year's junior World Cup.

Come along for free to watch skaters from all across the UK (and beyond!) battle it out on the track and meet the Eastbourne team. If you like what you see, the next new skater intake is on the 23^rd July!

Sat 15 July

Midday: 2pm “open skating” tips and tricks followed by roller disco, eat your picnic etc. Some SK8Jam Lessons and skate lessons.

5pm: Settle down for picnics and FREE “CHEF” SUPERVISED BBQ’s for those that have them or use the SK8 school… music in the background, gentle skate around, building up to a full roller disco into the night…

10pm: Close. (If the weather forces an indoor Sports Park Event, we’ll end at 6pm).

Sun 16 July

Midday: Start as per Saturday. Similar program scaled back… open air roller disco.

4-5pm: Close (depending on how busy!)
