Writing Competition NEW for Summer 2023
All Things Ocean!
A Summer Writing Competition at the Beachy Head Story.
July-September 2023
Under 18s:
Are you mad about mermaids, potty about pirates and smitten with smugglers? Are you dotty about dolphins and wild about whales? Send us a story or a poem telling us what you love about the ocean! Will you write about starfish and seashells? Sandy beaches and castles? Sea monsters and shipwrecks? Send your imagination seawards and tickle our tentacles with your soggy stories and rhymes!
Over 18s:
Are you inspired by the ocean, by the moon and tides or storms and treasures on the strand-line? Do you love lighthouses and dolphins, shipwrecks and smugglers? Are you longing to plunge into the depths of your salty imagination and fish about for some inspiration? Tell us what you discover there! We’re looking for super-short stories or poems from the ocean depths or the seashore shallows.
Poems up to 30 lines, short stories up to 500 words.
Entries to annalie.seaman@lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk by 12 noon Sunday 3rd September.
Winners will be announced at the end of September and your work will be showcased at the Beachy Head Story.
